3182/21 DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND GREEN TRANSITION: TOWARDS AN EFFECTIVE PARTICIPATION OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES FOR BUILDING BACK BETTER
Green transition and digital transformation are strategic recovery priorities around the world. Persons with disabilities cannot, and should not, be left behind in the face of these global challenges either.
How to make it possible? Guaranteeing the participation of persons with disabilities must be the guiding principle. However, it is also necessary to include in the digitization and green transition strategies the principles of accessibility and universal design, augmentative and alternative communication, consider reasonable accommodations, among others.
Persons with disabilities are also active actors in the challenges presented by both the digital transformation and the green transition. We should seize this opportunity for building back better.
In this side event, we intend to learn from different experiences that can offer guidance so that the digital transformation and the green transition are also inclusive of persons with disabilities.
